Not a long time... Article Searching 101

Because many of our journals and magazines are collected together in aggregated databases, adding and mixing several titles and publishers, searching is usually a matter of entering words and phrases that describe your topic, at least in the beginning.

(Begin here, just to get the hang of it!)

Remember this guy?

"When asked about using drugs, Clinton replied, 'I've never broken the state law and... when I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two  and I didn't like it and didn't inhale and never tried it again.'" (para. 23)

Getting in the Quick Fuzz

Sometimes, in the course of the research process, you may want to survey a particular business landscape in as few pages as possible.  The answer to this research need is what I like to call, Short Article Searching!  To make this happen, open up the Advanced Search interface link, available in most journal/magazine e-collections, and look for the search feature that allows you to limit your search to articles with no more than 5, 4, or 3 pages, for example.

In this illustration, inside the Business Source Complete e-collection, the Short Article Searching plan seems to have produced some fine results!
