This session will introduce the advantages of open access publishing options in the lens of social justice and increased discovery for the authors. At the end of this session, participants will be able to: Identify open access publications in their field - Describe the difference between green and gold open access -List two ways to reduce author fees - Define predatory publishing

This session will provide an introduction to the components of the data lifecycle with a focus on Open Data for researchers. You will learn about new journal and funder requirements around data deposit when publishing your research findings. Participants will also learn about available tools for developing a data management plan and depositing your data in open data repositories.
