This important event highlights May 25 – 31, which is National AccessAbility Week(NAAW). The annual observance intentionally focuses our attention on the many achievements and contributions of people with disabilities while raising awareness about the ongoing issues of ableism, exclusion, and discrimination that continue to exist.
At Centennial College, our Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Policy outlines the commitment to understanding disability as a social construct that can be effectively addressed through efforts and meaningful transformation in all spheres and capacities throughout the institution. The observance of NAAW plays a vital role in the College's collective understanding, commitment to inclusive practices, and recognition of the vast contributions of the disability community.
