What is sensitive data?

Sensitive data includes information about an individual that may cause discomfort or harm if associated with the participants identity. Sensitive data includes confidential information gathered during human subject research.

Storage: Sensitive data should be password protected and stored with encryption on a secure server with role-based rights.

Best practices: When dealing with human subject research try to collect anonymous data where possible or to de-identify the data as soon as possible after data collection.
