Personal Support Worker

This series uses demonstrations and explanations to teach the basic skills for nurse assisting, discussing bathing and bedmaking, body mechanics, elimination, hot and cold applications, infection control, vital signs, feeding and nutrition, personal hygiene, skin and wound care, specimen collection, and special considerations for working with patients with dementia.

You're Looking At Me Like I Live Here And I Don't is the first documentary to be filmed entirely in an Alzheimer's care unit, and also the first told entirely from the perspective of a woman living with Alzheimer's disease.

This program identifies types and symptoms of dementia, looks at changes in toileting and incontinence, and examines potential health risks from functional decline. It shows approaches for effective care in bathing, dressing, and eating; identifies safety considerations for Activities of Daily Living; and examines how activities and various stimuli affect residents with dementia. The program also considers communication with residents and reporting of observations.
