Jumping In With Both Feet!

Taking the perspective of the newish immigrant, this guide points to the best resources for participating in the Canadian labour force.

It is divided into sections related to employment services including credentials, certification, and workplace health and safety, finding employer (company) information, and the mechanics of career searching such as crafting a resume and accessing e-job boards.

This resource can be used in conjunction with some of the targeted services offered by Centennial College.

Our College, and You!

"Understanding the world of work means that you learn something about trends in the job market.  It means you get some idea of how this market has changed in recent years as we've moved into what some people call the new economy.  Finally, it's important to learn how to research different careers and find out what they're all about.  That way you're not guessing about what they involve or relying on somebody else's opinion.  Instead, you base your planning on solid information."
