Audio

How to access online audiobooks and other audio content in our collection, and how to use Text to Speech and Adobe Reader to have the resources read aloud.

Text to Speech Feature

Many of our articles -- journal, magazine, and newspaper -- have a Text to Speech feature that will read the article aloud to you.

Some of these Text to Speech players allow the file to be downloaded as well.

Look for the webplayer when accessing the HTML full-text of your article to listen to and/or download the audio. Examples of where to locate the webplayer in our databases are below.

Start your search in Page1+ (our library catalogue). Enter your search terms.

In the results, select the Available Online filter (along with any other filters that are relevant to your search).

Once you have found your article, click on the Available Online link in the results.

Under View Online, select a database to access the article.

Note: Not all articles will have a Text to Speech feature. If available, select an EBSCO, Gale, ProQuest or Taylor & Francis database to view your article.
