Is it CURRENT? 

  • Was it published in the last x years? x depends on your topic and discipline. 

Is it RELIABLE?

  • Are references provided? Is the information objective or biased? Is it opinion based?

Who is the AUTHORITY?

  • Who is the author? What are their credentials? Who is the publisher or organization behind the resource? 

What is the PURPOSE/POINT OF VIEW?

  • What is the purpose of the information? Is it to inform, entertain, persuade, or sell you something? Are there political, religious, cultural, or other biases? Who is the intended audience?
