Information about respecting Canadian copyright law in your work at Centennial.

Welcome to the Centennial College Copyright LibGuide

This guide contains general information about respecting Canadian copyright law, special formats, obtaining clearance, and Centennial's copyright policies. It does not constitute legal advice. Please contact us if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Why care about copyright?

Copyright has become much more important for colleges since key Canadian legislation and court cases in 2012 changed how it is handled. Colleges now have more responsibility for how their faculty and staff respect copyright law, so it is important that you understand the basics of copyright before you use copyright-protected works.

There are many resources available to help you meet your teaching and learning goals at Centennial while respecting copyright. Explore the tabs above to discover how you can use copyright-protected works safely and legally in your work at the College.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us using the sidebar on the right.
